making reassigning assignee mandatory after a change?

Hi,

We’ve just upgraded from OP 4.0.x to 5.0.16 and it’s very different and some of the users are getting a bit confused. I’m guessing there’s no way of changing the full page work package edit screen to be like the old one? Where comments were underneath the main details and not on the side and was part of the main form? Whenever they made a change before they would have to reassign the assignee as it was next to the comment field so it was harder for them to forget. Now the in place editing allows you to edit any field but they are likely to forget to reassign the assignee now. Is there anyway we can change this or make reassigning mandatory?

I’m guessing the answer is no but have been asked to find out…

Hello Chris,

thanks for your post. This is valuable feedback.
Sorry to hear there is some confusion with OpenProject 5.0.
The work package page has been completely rebuild and therefore cannot be easily changed back to the old structure.
There is currently no way to make the assignee mandatory.
Do you know the news and release notes for OpenProject 5.0?
There you can get an overview of the changed and new features.

Thanks for your reply. Yes that was my fault I should have read the release notes but was rushing to upgrade everything to make sure everything was secure.

I thought this was the case - hopefully they will be ok with the new layout or i will be migrating back to redmine groan… :(
