Problems adding attachments to wikis
Added by Jim W over 8 years ago
Hello, I am trying to add attachments to a wiki page.
1. When I add an attachment using the “browse” box the link appears at the end of the page. However the code for the attachment does not appear in the editing box, so I cannot cut and paste it to another location. Is this intentional or a bug?
2. Shouldn’t the attachment link be inserted where my cursor is in the edit box?
3. When I use the button, it inserts double braces Feature tour into the code but then there is no way to browse to the file.
Help please.

Hi Jim,
this is intentional. You need to add the correct textile syntax to link the added attachment.
You can do this by copying the link to the attachment and referencing some text using quotation marks (e.g.
link text
Here is a gif showing how to include links and embed images in wiki pages:
OK, your GIF shows two good things: how to create a link to an attachment and how to embed an image in the page. Thank you.
Just to summarize for others, the procedure to create the link is something like this:
1) In normal viewing mode. browse to the file and make it an attachment. Note the document is listed at the bottom of the wiki page.
2) Copy the URL onto your clipboard.
3) Go to Edit mode and create code similar to the following:
Your document description
(Sorry, don’t know how to make the above appear as code.)
Now I would like to know: How do I delete an attachment, and is there a repository of attachments somewhere that I can visit? It seems redundant to have “attachments” as well as “Documents” in Open Project, when they could be the same.
Thank you.
