Filelinks out of OpenProject workpackages

Hi there,

is there any possbility to link to files or folders (local and network filesystem) out of OpenProject workpackages?

"C:/test.txt":file:///C:/test.txt

works fine so far in Firefox, but e.g. not in Chrome.

Hey Bernd,

I think Chrome has a restriction that won’t allow you to open file:// URLs when you’re on a remote host.
It’s nothing we can control from an application point of view.

It may work when opening that in a new tab
Alternatively, this extension should work: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/locallinks/jllpkdkcdjndhggodimiphkghogcpida.

Hi Oliver,

thank you for the hint. New tab at its own doesnt work, but the extension fixed it.

By the way, have you any experiences, why it is not possible to make file-urls in custom fields (text) work? http-urls are working fine.
