Hello Robin,
there are no private tasks in OpenProject.
The visibility of a work package is limited by the project and permission scope:
You could create a work package in a separate (non-public) project where only you are a member. This way no other user (except for admins) can see the work package.
Alternatively, you could assign members to a project but assign them a role which does not allow them see and / or edit work packages.
In the context of a larger project, you may want to use a main project in which all users are working together and work packages are visibly for everyone.
You could then create a subproject for individual users which have only one member each. The work packages in this project are not visible for other users.
To maintain an easy overview, users can then go back to the main project and filter in the work package list for “Subprojects”. This way each user can see all public work packages and also their private work packages (which only they can see) on the same page.
There is however no option to limit the permission to edit work packages to only the assignee.
It is clear that OpenProject currently has no private task option.
Do you have this on the roadmap to implement this function?
Hello Tamas,
this feature is tracked in .
It is however currently not on our roadmap (but in the wish list).
Best regards,
Robin
