Workpackage Templates
Added by Marc Burk almost 9 years ago
Hello I’ve an idea for a feature which i want to discuss with you.
What do you think about the possibilty to create a workpackage template for each project. To be more flexible it could be possible to create a template for each workpackage typ.
This would make it easier for the users to fulfill the request/bug report requirements for a project. This also would help the OpenProject.org to let the user create better bug reports! And the users would be guided more. I think some of the OP Devs already using a template. But its just copy & pasted and no one else have access to it.
I think the templates should be placed in the project configuration.
If a user creates a new workpackage the template is filled as default description. in further steps i could imaging that a whole workpackage with all fields could be templated.
At the moment the workpackages have no form and doesnt guides a user which information is needed for a good workpackage.
what do you think about it?
with kind regards

Hello Marc,
thanks for your suggestion.
This is a great idea.
In fact, the feature to configure the work package form on a type and project basis (e.g. to specify which attributes should be shown and which values are set by default) has been requested several times.
This may very well be a topic for future development after completing the topics currently on the development timeline
Best,
Robin
