Where to activate WYSIWYG editor?
Added by Ralf Walther almost 9 years ago
Hi,
we are evaluating OP again - now in version 5 it looks very promising.
One feature would be essential for all users, who don’t have much experience with writing textile - a wysiwyg editor for wiki pages etc.
I found a hint about this issue in #18039.
I didn’t find any setting for this inside the system configuration, although there is a parameter for text format with value textile without any alternative value in the selection list.
So I think there is a small piece missing here, correct? Plugin?
Or am I totally blind for this default feature?
Any help is appreciated.
Regards
Ralf

Hello Ralf,
as you can see the status of the feature workpackage is “specified” and its on the “Wish List”. Its not implemented at all. There is no option at the moment where you can activate a WYSIWYG Editor.
This feature was requestes by some workers at my company, too.
with kind regards
Marc Vollmer
Hi Marc,
ah ok. Didn’t notice the status. Thanks for the hint.
Although a lot of our requirements about such a tool are met, but It’s hard to explain those Word-Users to use textile for documentation purposes. So I ask myself if it’s possible to integrate existing editors into OP.
So I have to look at the plugin mechanism …
Regards
Ralf
[Edit]
OP has passed our evaluation and I think we will use it only for very simple project management tasks.
The integration of the wiki module would be really cool … but only if you can use it with minimal WYSIWYG features like tables or images.
Actually status of the wiki module with textile syntax is not enough for us. (:-(
We have to look at another alternative wiki like MediaWiki with VisualEditor or a complete TikiWiki.
I’m so sad about this!
