[Solved] can't change the status of a work package.

Added by Georg Weickelt almost 8 years ago

After creating a work package, the status is set to “new”. I it is not possible to change this status. Where can I start looking for a solution?

Hello Georg,

can you check if you are a member in the project (even if you are admin you need to be a project member to change the status)?
You can only edit the status if you are a member in the project and there is a valid transition defined in the Workflows (based on Type and Role).

You can also take a look at the FAQs:
https://www.openproject.org/help/faq/work-packages-questions/

Best,
Robin

That was the solution, thank you!

Hello, this is an old post but its related to the problem I'm seeing. I am actually on the cloud trial period but a "member" account is not able to change the task status from New to InProgress (can't change "new" to anything, "new" is grayed out!)
