[Solved]Display Subprojects
Added by Christian Lewin about 9 years ago
Dear team,
some days ago we’ve installed OpenProject and are really happy about it! :)
For the overview I created a Project, where I wanted to see ALL Subprojects in the Timelines (incl. all responsible persons).
Therefore I created a new timeline report and activated “Show subprojects from” —> my main project, from which all other projects are subprojects.
BUT when I opened the report I only see…no subprojects…nothing.
Attached please find a picture with the used option.
It would be great if you could help me displaying all my subprojects in one timeline! :)
Thank you very much in advance
Regards
Christian

Hello Christian,
there is actually a different way to display subprojects in the timeline of a main project.
You need to navigate to the subprojects, make sure the “Timeline” module is activated in them as well and then select “Status reportings” from the side navigation (left side). Then, create a status report and select the main project (parent project) as the target project.
Once you created the report, the subproject is shown in the timeline of the parent project.
(Then you can apply the filter option you mentioned to limit which projects are actually shown.)
Perfect!
Thank you very much for your fast support and help.
It’s working perfect!! :)

Christian
No problem.
Glad to hear it’s working properly :)
There is also a YouTube video which covers timelines in OpenProject and highlights several of the main features:
