Workpackages for roles
Added by Zsombor Varga about 9 years ago
Hello!
I’ve created a new role “Testers”.
I’ve 3 workpackage types: Task, Bug, Feature.
I’d like to set the Tester role’s permissions or workflows, that the members of this role should see only the Bugs, and they only can add Bugs.
So a Tester won’t see the Tasks, and cannot add a Task.
Is it possible somehow?
Thanks,
Zsombor

Hi Zsombor,
Please take a look at this tutorial: https://www.openproject.org/help/user-guides/administration/manage-workflows/

Hi Maya,
I saw that page, but if I uncheck all for the Testers and Tasks, they cannot update Tasks. But they (Testers) still can see the Tasks, and they can add new Tasks.
I’d like to completly hide all Task from Testers
Zsombor
Hi,
Did you also adapt the roles accordingly? https://www.openproject.org/help/user-guides/administration/manage-roles-permissions/

I think yes.
This is my settings for Tester:
And the settings the of the workflow for Testers and Task:
What is wrong?
Hi,
Sorry, i spoke too quickly, you can only prohibit someone from seeing all work packages at the moment. Further division based on a work package type is not possible.
You can, however, prohibit certain roles from changing the WP status for specific types.
Also you could dedicate a specific project to bugs only and grant the Testers access to only this specific project.
Hope this helps,
Maya
