Is it possible to extend existing tables by new fields?

Added by Markus Pitha over 9 years ago

Hello,
I have two questions which are probably the same topic.

In the latest stable version 4.2.5 there is under [myproject]->Work packages on the right side a setting where you can add columns. Due to any reason you can’t add ‘Spent time’. It looks like a bug to me since other columns can be added. Nevertheless, is it possible to programmatically extend the suggestions?

The same with ‘Time sheet’ menu entry. (All projects -> [myproject] -> Time sheet). Is it possible to extend the table on the bottom you can export by CSV with a ‘custom type’?

In my opinion there are two possibilites. Either to write a plugin or you just adapt the code and restart. But the latter one leads to the problem, that the next updates will overwrite the modifications. Maybe you can create a branch an merge the modifications into the latest version locally. Or are there any better approaches?

Hello Markus,

thanks for your post.
There is already a feature request to add “Spent time” as column to the work package list (#16044).
For information on how to submit code, please have a look at this code contribution information.

I’m afraid I’m not quite sure what you mean by ‘custom type’ in the time sheet / spent time table. Do you mean custom fields?

Best,
Robin
