[Solved] work packages list view default number of item per page to 100 ?

Added by Jean-François Dumont almost 8 years ago

Hi,

in work packages list view, the default number of item per page is 10. I would like to set default item per page to 50 or 100
how can i do that ?

Thanks

Jean-François

Hi Jean-Fracois,

there is a setting “Objects per page options” within the admin settings:

  • Modules -> Administration -> Settings -> General -> "

You need admin privileges for this setting.

Niels

I had not realized that if I put only 50,100 it will take the smaller by default.

Thank you

Jean-François

Hi all
I have a similar issue, but changing the number of Objects per page does not change the number of objects displayed in the Workpackage list view. There are alway 20 items displayed disregarding whether the number of objects is set to 10 or to 100.

I am using openoffice 7.3.1 on Centos7

best regards, Christian

Hi all!

for me, it’s like Christian described: I always get 20 work packages displayed, no matter what number I set in the Admin area.

Is this a bug or is there any other way to set the default number of work packages displayed?

Cheers,
Martin

Hi Martin, hi Christian,

I could not reproduce the error in the latest OpenProject version (7.3.2).
Once I change the setting in the admin area, the pagination options are shown properly in the bottom right side of the work package list - and the correct number of work packages is shown.

Where does the error occur for you?
Do you see the defined number of work packages in the bottom right corner of the work package page?

Do you use the latest version of OpenProject? Do you use the on-premise or Cloud version? Which browser do you use?

Best,
Robin

Hi Robin,

I don’t even see the box your arrow is pointing at on your screenshot!

We are using OpenProject on our own LAMP server, latest version 7.3.2. Screenshots attached!

Cheers,
Martin

Hi Martin,

is there any particular reason to use an exclamation mark?
Please note that you ask for free support for a free and open source software. They might easily feel offended by you.

Hi Niels,

nowhere in my post am I attacking, criticising or accusing anyone, so I would be surprised if my exclamation mark is interpreted in that way. It is simply there to emphasize my surprise – nothing else.

Cheers,
Martin

Hi Martin,

well it really depends on what you want to achieve.

The point is:
You ask the community for free support. So somebody takes their time to support you. So if you ask somebody for a favor it is always helps to use words like “please” and “thank you”. This does not only apply for open source communities.

Hi Niels,

I just wanted to add to Christians report that I have this issue as well. I don’t need it fixed (because I don’t really need this to work), but I will happily provide any help I can provide (clarifying on which version of OpenProject the issue occurs, in the cloud or on an on-premise server etc.).

Of course, I am grateful for OpenProject and thank the community behind it (my organization in general is very appreciative of open source development and has donated to/funded numerous projects in the past), but I don’t think I have to emphasize this in every post I write, especially when the topic of the thread is something completely different.

To be honest, I think your derailing of this thread by going completely off-topic without providing any valuable input to the issue at hand is a lot more inappropriate than an exclamation mark that might be misinterpreted.

Cheers,
Martin

Hi everyone,

Niels helped me figure out what is going on: There is a tiny bug, where the values added in the Admin area are only recognized if they are sorted in an ascending order. E.g. entering 100, 20 does not work - using 20, 100 does.

@Niels: Thank you for your quick support! :)

I have added a bug report here: https://community.openproject.com/projects/openproject/work_packages/26750/activity

Cheers,
Martin
