"linking" a task as a sub task

Added by mark scarantino almost 12 years ago

Added a story.
Used the Creat Sub task
created a new task, and marked the Story card as the parent
Created another new task and did not mark any card as the parent
go back into update that last task card created and want to mark as child to the story card ( I shold have done this when i created it, just forgot, but there are times when I want to mark as subordinate later.

Is this a backlog item?
Is there a way to do this today?

Thanks

See attached document - want to mak the Related issue task #42 a sub task with the other three.

Reason - reporting, rolling up statuses…

When you edit an issue, you can set its parent. That way you can make an issue a child of another. Does that answer your question?

we must not have the latest release installed.

This is where we are at OpenProject 2.4.0.43a27d9a8

and it does NOT have that option within Edit/Update.

Will have our team look for a more recent version.

thanks

I think I understand now. When editing a task, you can click on “more” to reveal more editing options. Have a look at the screenshot. It will of course also work w/ 2.4:
