Hello,
I just gained access to the trial version of OpenProject. I have added a user under the Administration Module but when I try and create a New Work Package for a Project, the Assignee dropdown is blank and user cannot be selected. What is preventing the user to display?

Hello Tim,
you need to add the user which you added via the administration settings to the project first. You can do this by going to the project, then navigating to “Project settings”, selecting the tab “Members” and adding the user with a role to the project.
Best,
Robin
Hello,
I have a similar problem.
I’m the only user on my openproject node and I want to document tasks, issues etc. for myself.
But how can I assign a work package to me as an admin? I can’t see a link nor button for that.
Is there a possibility to shorten the creation of projects and work packages for single-user-workplaces by setting me as default user / assignee / role etc.?
Thanks.
Hello Ca Ya,
only project members can be added as assignee / responsible to a work package.
Even when you are an admin you need to become a member of the project in order to be an assignee / responsible.
You can add a project member in the project settings:
Then you can edit an existing work package or create a new one and select yourself as assignee (or responsible):
Since OpenProject is focused on multiple users there is no special case / behavior when only one user exists. However, we are thinking about an option to define default fields for work package attributes on a project level (which would allow to set an assignee / responsible).
Best,
Robin
