[Backlog] Get white alert box when manager role trying to create new Story(workflow)
Added by Thomas Sørensen about 10 years ago
I’ve set up everything, but only the original Admin is allowed to create new stories directly in the backlog section, when a non admin user Manager Role tries to do it a white alert box pops up, the same happens when the user creates a new task in the task board section.
If the user creates story through the Work packages section and sets target version to a backlog everything is fine, and the same for Tasks created through Work packages, they show up on the Task board.
What am I missing ?
Attached two screen shots white white boxes in the different sections.

Hello Thomas,
sorry for the late reply.
This is indeed weird behavior.
Could you check if the user roles which encounter the problem have the permission to “Create tasks” and “Update tasks” in the Backlogs section of Roles & Permissions?
Could you also check the workflow for those roles and the type you are trying to change / update (probably “Task”)?
I would assume the error is related to one of the two settings.
Hello
I got away from this again, but now I’m ready to continue so..
I just manually made a clean install of OpenProject 4.0 on another server running Ubuntu and I get the exact same problem.
I have created a new user and made him manager, using the standard settings prompted about.
As admin I create a new project, and setup a version in project settings. In the project settings I only use Features and Tasks. As Admin have no problems creating new Features in the backlog, but as manager it prompts me with the blank alert message as the above post describes.
My settings for the manager is set as in the attached screen shots.
Any suggestions ?
