How to report bugs

Added by Željko Trogrlić over 9 years ago

It seems that trackers do not allow addition of new issues for “outsiders”, or I cannot find the option. Can I add new issue?

There are two problems that I found:

  • Installation OpenProject 3 0 states that PostgreSQL 8.x should be used, while later it describes installation of 9.x. Which one is right?
  • In forum, preview of new message does not work (nothing happens when I click on it)

Hi Željko,

thank you for your message.
You can create a work package (formerly issue) by clicking on Work packages and then New work packages (in side navigation).

If you want to add a new type for a work package you need to be a system admin. You can create a new work package type by navigating to “Modules” (in top navigation), selecting “Administration” (only visible if you are a system admin) and selecting “Types” in the displayed left navigation.
Click on “New type” to add a new work package type.

When you find a bug you can report it following our guideline for Reporting a Bug.

Concerning your questions:

  1. You can use either version of PostgreSQL. (We support both version 8 and 9). The installation guideline states that at least version 8 is required, however shows how to perform the steps with the more current version 9.
  2. There is already a bug report about the missing preview function for forums (see the reported bug).
(There is also a bug that the preview for News does not work. It has been reported here)

Best,
Robin

The link to the “Report-a-bug” page is broken. (2017-06-12)

Hi Otheus,

thanks. I updated my post to the new link.
Did you notice the link to be broken on another page as well?
