View Timeline/Status of All Projects - Management Summary
Added by Paul Sheehan about 10 years ago
Greetings,
I am trialing Open Project and so far, it is quite nice. I would like to create a Timeline or some type of projects summary view that will allow management to view the status of all projects to which they have at least view permissions, including all public projects. This would also include sub-projects. I have so far created three projects on openproject-demo.org, one parent with two sub-projects. However, when viewing the parent project, I cannot see the sub-projects. Instead, I have to select each project and create a timeline at the child level. Am I missing a feature or setting in the parent timeline? Or, am I asking for a capability that is not yet available?
The bottom line is to see an all-up, summary view of all projects’ status.
Thank you,
Paul

Hello Paul,
you can use Status reportings to show child projects in the timeline of parent projects.
In order to do this, navigate to the child projects you want to show in the parent timeline, select Status reportings from the left navigation and create a new reporting to the parent project.
When you navigate to the parent project you should be able to see the child project in the timeline as well (provided you have the permission to view the child project - otherwise you only see those projects which you are allowed to see).
Best,
Robin
Understood. Thank you!
