Only Manager role can assign the work package Status field ?

Added by Alexandru Matei over 10 years ago

Hello,

I login with a user having the Developer role .
I create a new work package.

In the editing screen I see the “Status” field is read-only.

I think it is a bug, because I have assigned all permissions to the Developer role (all checkboxes are set)

Please see attached images for more clarity.

Thanks a lot !

Hi Alexandru,

in addition to adding the user with a certain role (e.g. “Developer”) to a project, you also need to define a workflow for the user’s role and the type in question.
You can define for each combination of roles and types the allowed status and status transitions.

If there is not a valid workflow transition for the chosen role and type and you try to edit or create a work package of the type for which there is no workflow defined, the default status of the type is displayed (which can not be changed).

Please have a look at the following thread for more information:

Best,
Robin
