Modules drop down menu not showing

So i have installed Openproject 3.0 on ubuntu with apache and passenger.. all was working well save for the ‘modules’ and ‘sign in’ menu items not displaying thier drop down menus.

I’ve tried suggestions from this post https://www.openproject.org/topics/1729?board_id=9&r=1751#message-1751

removing eveerything from public/assets then recompiling the assets in production does not seem to work

in development if there is nothing in public/assets the site seems to work as expected.

Would love to get this resolved just not sure what to do next…
