Is there a way to import work packages from say excel? I have bunch of MS project or stand alone file where I have items with start end due dates etc. Is it possible?
Under a project, is there a way to create phases - like phase 1, phase 2?
Is there a way to overlay gantt charts on a parent project? I crated status reports in sub projects to parent project but the charts come up one below the other.
There is no direct way to import work packages from excel. However, there is an MS project AddIn (which is in beta) that can be used to import data from project to OpenProject. See this thread for more discussion on the topic.
You can create phases, milestones etc. using the timelines module: When you create work packages they are displayed in the timeline by default. You can e.g. create work packages of type “Phase” which are then displayed in the project’s timeline.
I don’t think this is possible - and I think in most cases you would probably want to know which project a work package belongs to. But you can define the initial outline expansion so that the projects are expanded by default to directly see which work packages exist.
there is no rally plugin yet. Please take a look at the list of plugins for the available OpenProject plugins.
The only way to import data would be via the MS Project AddIn (which is in beta) and you’re quite limit in terms of attributes that are being imported.
I suppose you might have to manually add the most important user stories you need, unless there is maybe another user who wrote an import plugin.

Thanks for the reply Robin. Another question I had was is there a rally plugin or some way by which I can import user stories, etc from Rally?
