Hi Wilfredo,
thank you for the positive feedback! :)
You can make a wiki public by two ways:
Best,
Robin
Thank you very much for the immediate response,
I own private projects, however, I will not repeat the same wiki for each project. I wish to place a public wiki in a private project. This is possible?.
I created a new project called “Wiki” with module Wiki active only, however, Its posible disable “overview” page?, only to leave the wiki.
Thank you very much for contributing this excellent software. I hope soon to improve things like language translation and installation.
Hi Wilfredo,
setting a project “private” in the project settings is absolute, meaning that all elements in the project can only be seen by project members (and system admins) (in order to guarantee a high level of privacy).
If you want to make parts of a projects accessible to user who are not members of the project, it is necessary to make the project public.
By limiting the permissions of the above mentioned roles (Anonymous, Non member) you can however control which parts of the public project people who are not project members are able to see (and / or edit). (Some elements are however always displayed in public projects if the respective modules are activated (e.g. News, Overview, Activity).
The overview page currently cannot be disabled, but you can control which elements are displayed on the page by going to the overview page, clicking on “Personalize this page” and adding or removing the entries that should be displayed.
Could you tell me what you try to accomplish with the public wiki page you want to create? Maybe there is another way to accomplish the goal.
Just to highlight two possible use cases:
Hope this helps.
Best,
Robin
Best Regards,
I was trying to make a public wiki to serve as manual procedures generally and not just like helping openproject.
The solution was to create another public project and enabling only the Wiki module, thank you very much.
I take this opportunity to thank your project vision of modules and plugins, this makes openproject application tool very basic and complex depending on the user’s interests. Focusing on the heart of the application and let the others can do the aggregates is a good practice.
Thanks :)
Great to hear it’s working now.
