Help with creating a new status for work packages and making it part of the workflow
Hello, I've read this blog post and I'm having a difficulty in making sure I followed the instructions correctly.
There is a new status which I wanted to add called "Final Review". It's at the 95% completion phase, and my admin dashboard for all my work package statuses looks like this:
Moving down to the Workflow section, I want to have it so that all the Project admins can select the "Final review" status for Tasks; that dashboard looks like this:
After hitting save, however, I do not see the status available for one of the work packages where I am a project admin:
What am I doing wrong?

Hi Trisha,
from your screenshot of the permission table, it looks like you did not check the second row for the new final review status option:
That is why you do not see this option when e.g. a work package is in progress at the moment.

OMG, I feel so silly for missing that. Thank you.
May I make a suggestion that the blog post be updated to mention more specifically to click the boxes in the horizontal and vertical row for the new status? Clearer documentation can help eliminate friction when it comes to uptake for folks who are not as tech-oriented.
One more thing: Related to this, how would you go about finding out which work packages are assigned to a status that you are intending to remove. I did go through all the ones that were not closed and change their status but I am not 100% certain that I changed all of them away before I can delete the status we don't need in OP right now.
Hi Trisha, that table needs reworking! Thank you for sharing your feedback on it. I have contacted Corinna, the author of the relevant blog post. Perhaps we could update the post to highlight how this table works better.
Regarding your second question:
open a work package table and include ALL projects
filter for Status = [status which you want to delete]
either change the status manually for each work package or select all and change the status via bulk edit. [1]
