Customized Default home screen

Added by Andre Schoonbee over 10 years ago

I am a project manager of a large project and need to be able to define a default user welcome screen. Part of the welcome screen, I want to use it as a general status report or draw users attention to items such as new documents, etc. Can this be done with ver 3.0.8? and if so, I would love to get some help / guidance

But need to mention this as well…
When creating content for the homepage, It should be wisywig and allow me to add pictures, etc and also link content to either the project plan or other documents, or to activities.

Hi Andre

the OpenProject home pages are not WISYWIG. They are dynamically created by Ruby code (with rails and passenger). The news component of the home pages is where you add your new content and you can add links, !add pictures!,

create headings

sub headings

indent things

but it is not like a wisywig
If you want that flexibility, then load openproject as a sub page off your wisywig normal static home page in apache and use a wisywig editor like Komposer to manage your home page.

I have attached my latest install guide which has instructions on how to load OpenProject as a sub page in apache at the end
(thanks Jonas Kupper)
