Looking at the documentation online, https://www.openproject.org/docs/user-guide/activity/, the Activity shows a sequential number for entries, i.e,
The above shows numbering 3-5.
However, in our instance of OpenProject (16.0.1), we no longer have the same numbering showing in the Activity entries,
Is this a mis-match between the documentation and the current version (hopefully not, as the number was very helpful to make references to a previous comment)? Or a setting that needs to be made?

Hello John,
this is indeed a mismatch and these images shown in the documentation needs to be updated. The comment number (#1, #2..) is not present in newer versions anymore.
They would be confusing when internal comments are used, which are not visible to all users. However, the whole timestamp next to the username is a clickable link to that certain comment now. Further, the [···] - button at the upper right of each comments also leads to a link to that comment and allows quoting the comment for a direct reference.
