Short hostname doesn't work

When Installing openproject community edition. It asks for fQDN and it works with openproject.example.net.us but I do have a certificate that has SAN as openproject as well. I tried to update apache configuration by adding shotname and other parameters. it doesn't work. I have a long FQDN , so I wanted to avoid that. How do we take care of this issue ?

I cannot open https://openproject, but I can https://openproject.example.net.us.
