Tracking Vacation Days

Hi to all, I have been testing the OpenProject platform to integrate it into our current workflow in the company but I don't find any way or documentation on how to deal with Vacation time for the users.

1- We need to be able to attribute a number of vacation days for each user.
2- The users need to be able to request Vacation days based on what is available to them mines what was approved already.
3- The manager needs to be able to review the request and make it visible for all if accepted.

Can anyone please send me a link where it describes the way to make it work or if this feature is doable at all by OpenProject.

I think you are looking at wrong place. OpenProject is not build for that purpose and I don't think there would be a feature meeting your requirements anytime soon.

You can check out Timeoff.Management it is a great opensource software. If your company is bigger that 25 employees I would suggest you use a ERP or HRM solution. ERPNEXT should be the opensource ERP you should be looking.

Hi, thank you the reply.

Vacation time allocation is very important for project scheduling so I don't understand how at least a minimum feature like tracking days available or requested is not considered in a project management platform ! 
We don't need a full HR customization but a simple allocation of resources that can be visible on the project timeline.

I really hope OpenProject reconsiders this feature in my humble opinion, is the only thing missing.

Vasco, personally that feature would be helpful for my case also as we could sync both erp and OpenProject together with custom API implementation. I explained you my workaround. You could also reach out to OpenProject team for feature request or new plugin, else you could find someone to make custom plugin.

Hi, thank you for your input, I took a deep look into ERPNEXT solution and it looks it can be used as project management as well.
Can I ask if you use it only for vacation tracking or more modules?
Nevertheless is a bit more complex to setup, if you could send me some links with good tutorials would be great.
