Offline-Client
Added by Flo J. over 10 years ago
Hey guys,
I was just wondering, if you ever tought about an offline-client for the openproject plattform? I really like what you are doing there, but from my own experience I often do the adminastrative stuff of an project manager on tour. Time in a train or a plane is great to think about milestones, update working packages, responsibilities, timetables, prepare meetings and so on…
So what do you think, wouldn’t it be a big enhancement to have an offline-client? Of course there is one big challenge to manage. Synchronisation of the offline-client with the plattform should work automatically without any loss of data and as less as possible user interaction.
Just let me know what you think about this idea and I am happy to help you with this client.
Cheers

Hi Flo,
this is a good idea and certainly practical.
At this point in time however, we have a different focus: We are currently working on a hosted solution for OpenProject.
However, if there are plans for an offline client in the future we’ll announce it in the news.
Best,
Robin
Hi Flo,
even though there is no direct offline-client for OpenProject, you could work with the data in openproject offline by using MS Project and the Task Connector for MS Project add-in to synchronize the data you entered in MS Project with the one entered in OpenProject.
For more information, please refer to the Task Connector for MS Project project or have a look at the following threads:
