Does OpenProject require a local MTA to send messages?
Added by Vladimir G. about 1 year ago
Hello.
Looking on the Forums for messages regarding using HAProxy with OpenProject, I came across one that mentioned OpenProject comes with health check URLs. I tested them and noticed that at URL your domain>/health_checks/all, one of the tests failed with message "mail: FAILED ActionMailer::Base at localhost:25 is not accepting connections: 'localhost is not accepting connections on port 25: Connection refused - connect(2) for "localhost" port 25' (0.000s)". I installed Postfix and started it and the same test now shows "mail: PASSED ActionMailer::Base check to localhost:25 successful (0.001s)".
Now I'm curious. Does OpenProject need a local MTA to send messages? I'm using OpenProject 13.0.4.
