Superior private board for each team member, so admin see nothing
Added by Dmitry Bardachev about 1 year ago
Hello,
we are using OpenProject 13.0.1 and came across some problems regarding using OpenProject for private purposes. The team members would like to transport all the private notes from MS OneNote to OpenProject. As I know, the users with the Role "Administrator" are able to track all the boards, regardless if they are private or not. My question is if it can be possible to build superior private board for each member, so nobody except the creator is able to watch the notes?
Unfortunately I didnĀ“t find anything regarding this aspect on forum...
Thank you
Regards,
Dmitry

Hello Dmitry
Great question! Users with general administration rights (not to be confused with the project related role "Project admin") indeed are able to track all the boards.
I recommend you to work more with project roles and permissions (e.g. Project admin) instead of general administration rights to maximize privacy of your users. Maybe you can replace some of the current admins with global roles ("admin light") with fewer permissions as well. [1] Nonetheless, you will always have at least 1 system admin (by default) who has access to all boards.
Best
Alexander
