Need Advice on creating Ticket Number with Prefix + Work Package ID#

Hi, new to the community and exploring OP... I would like to create a ticket number with prefix and running number when a new WORK PACKAGE is created, based on the TYPE. Can/Should this be done as a Custom Field ? regex? Appreciate your advice! :) 

eg. 

FEA2309182 - type of work package: Feature (prefix to use FEA); YYMM (2309 for Year 2023 Sept - today's date); the system generated ID# (work_packages/182/activity)

BUG2309183 - type of work package: Bug (prefix to use BUG); YYMM (2309 for Year 2023 Sep - today's date); the system generated ID# (work_packages/183/activity)
