Sort order for users in drop-down boxes

I'm pretty sure I remember that users in the drop-down selection boxes used to be sorted in alphabetical order. The ones in mine are now sorted by, what I perceive to be, random order. I cannot figure out how to get them back in alphabetical order. This applies to all drop-down boxes with users selectable.

My OpenProject version is 12.5.4.
