Error message when a tab is open for a long time behind reverse proxy

Added by Stefan Lorenz over 2 years ago

Hi all,

when a user has a tab open for a long time and the session becomes inactive, OpenProject always shows the following message:

I suspect that this is not a but related to our setup of dockerized OP behind a reverse proxy with OAuth. Maybe someone else has a similar setup and has some insights to share how to configure the proxy to keep the connection alive.

Hi Stefan,

there are a couple of reasons why fetching the notifications might fail e.g. because of session expiry or just because of one lost request. I am not aware of a reverse proxy causing any more problems.

There was a regression in 12.4 which lead to errors when fetching the notifications being displayed as a toast like this instead of a less annoying approach. With 12.4.3 this should be fixed.

Can you please try to update to that version and see if that helps?

Regards

Jens
