Is this a bug? (setting items per page)

I am a new user, so I don't know if this is a bug.

Administration -> System Settings -> Objects per page options defaults to 100, 200.  This gives you 100 items per page, with an option in the lower right hand side of the window to switch to 200 items per page.

I tried setting it to 200,300 and it does display 200 items per page, but the control to switch to 300 disappears from the window.  Is there an undocumented limit that causes this?

The root of this problem seems to date back almost three years.

Typically how many "votes" does an issue need to receive before it's resolved?
