I’m so lost I can’t even make a simple GANTT chart !
The OpenProject Module 1: Timelines video on YouTube shows a Planning Elements item that I should be using but I can’t find it !
I’ve tried using Work Packages instead; been able to link them using the Parent field but I’m puzzled by the Start Date, Due Date …
Shouldn’t they be automatically filled when packages are linked ?
I don’t get it.
Timeline view show all my work elements at the same date, today.
I spent a little more time on OP and am now able to create GANTT charts :)
I was using the Parent field incorrectly.
I should have been using Related work packages instead.
Looking forward to a user guide nevertheless !

I’m just starting using OP, but comes in front of lots of questions, like: only a user with administrator privilege can start new projects?
If there is a tutorial section in the official site, that could be perfect.
The User Guide is in the making :-) We will give you all a shout when it’s ready. Keep in mind we are trying to make it as complete as possible, so it’s taking a while. Patience on your end is highly appreciated.
In the meantime, take advantage of Brendan Dunn’s guide (thanks for that, Brendan :-) )
Who is working on the user manual / user guide ? Would that person(s) like some help ? In any case , why not release the partial done version of the user manual ?

You need to set start and due date yourself. Then your timeline should reflect those changes automatically.
