Hide Enterprise Upsale

Added by Thomas Kapocsi over 2 years ago

Is there anyway to remove the banners advertising the enterprise edition. I can deal with in admin but users should not be seeing that.

Hi Thomas

there is a very simple solution to your question:

Hi Thomas,

an very way is to support the developers that build and maintain this open source software. Open source developers need to pay their rent too.

Best

Niels

What do you do if you're a one-man company and want to use this software without adds?
Could at least offer a reasonable option for us.

OpenProject used to be add free, can't see why it can't be that again.
I think we understand at this point, some of the enterprise features have a cost.

Good day,

With all due respect, if you'll allow me to play devil's advocate here, I use OpenProject Community Edition in my company in such a way that the Enterprise banner is the least I can contribute to the development of the project. This software may have originated as a fork of RedMine, but it has long since evolved beyond that, with dedicated developers working daily to build a true alternative to the more restrictive and heavy-handed tools on the market, such as Jira, Trello, and others. Even if you're using those tools on your own, you'll likely encounter far more limitations and paid add-ons that OpenProject offer for free than a simple Enterprise Edition banner.

Hi all,

When I first opened this thread two years ago, I was still in high school, trying to set up a system for my robotics club. We were looking for a way to deploy something usable for the team, around 100 accounts in total, though only a small fraction would be active daily. At that scale and budget, we simply could not justify paying what a company of similar user count might pay for software like this.

Since then, I’ve worked with charities and non-profits that qualify for full JIRA access at no cost. I am aware that models exist where access is granted based on the use case, not just scale.

While I fully agree that paying developers is critical, some legitimate users do not fit the mould of enterprise clients and cannot reasonably afford per-seat licensing. If they are self-hosting and not reliant on premium features, constantly upselling them via UI banners feels heavy-handed.
