Work Package Relationships (DELETE)

Added by John R over 2 years ago

There is a document that discusses how to ADD work package relationships,
https://www.openproject.org/docs/user-guide/work-packages/work-package-relations-hierarchies/

but I do not see any documentation on how to REMOVE relationships.

Also if a "Parent" work package is deleted, what does that do to the "child" work packages?

Hello John,

You can remove relations by opening the work package's detail view and go to the "Relations" tab. There is an x-symbol behind the related work package to remove the relation. If you cannot see the "x" immediately, just hover over the related work package and it will appear.

If you delete the parent work package you will receive a warning as all child work packages and their descendants will also be recursively deleted. Before being able to delete a parent work package you need to confirm that you have read this warning message.

Best regards
Samantha
