as the checkout instructions are not suitable for repositories subprojects ie https://git-server.com/projectA/repoA.git and I deactivated the feature all together there should be an option to completely hide the notification banner.

To clearify my setup:
I have a project with two subprojects in open-project. Only the subprojects have a corresponding repository located on a different server managed by gitlab. These repos are also in a parent project. Everything in gitlab/open-project is called the same and has the same structure.
