Disable notifications for custom fields

Hello,

we've had to add a custom field for some API stuff. The field does not need to be visible in the form at all, but I found no way to hide it while keeping it accessible via API. Is there a way to at least disable notifications for changes on this field? This is creating some notification spam for our users right now.

We have a Basic subscription if that is relevant.

To create a new custom field navigate to -> Administration -> Custom fields and select the section for which you will create a new custom field, e.g. for work packages.
