Annoying advertising button for the enterprise version - how to delete

Added by Dr. Ulrich Menter about 3 years ago

We installed an own server in a docker.

1. In my understanding, an open source project comes generally along without advertising.

2. This advertising buttons, which appears here an there, eg. where it’s possible to chose filters, are out of function.

Question: How is it possible to delete this light blue button area totally?

Thanks for your feedback regarding the Removal of Enterprise Feature Buttons. At the moment, we don't have that specific functionality available, but you could maybe open a feature request for the desired functionality. When many of our customers ask for the same improvement, we try our best to get it done. However, due to the large number of suggestions we receive, we can't provide a timeline. Here you could add the feature:

You could also keep up with the latest product news and enhancements on our official blog https://www.openproject.org/blog/ for additional feature updates and fixes. It's our way of keeping you informed on all the exciting work we're doing behind the scenes.

Again, we appreciate the feedback and believe that together we can create great products for everyone!
If we can assist you with anything else, please don't hesitate to let us know.

Hi Ullrich,

another option would be be a hero and to support the dev team to build and maintain OpenProject. The "annoying" bunner reminds free riders that Open source developers need to pay their rent, too...

I can understand all this. But when this button in addition is not working, so and in this context it is adverse publicity.
My proposal would be to keep this button in the overview and administration area. (see screenshot)

In addition, I want to underline, that I fully appreciate your work and also the strategy with an open source and enterprise version. I believe that this is a fruitful kind of "cooperation"

Can't argue with rent, but you either get to call things Open source or you don't, the mixed space is called freemium and its not what OpenProject looks like from the outside.

I have used OpenProject for just about 10 years now, and have been begging for a license that would fit my one-man company.
Its not possible for me to pay 25 user licensee, when I'm just one, I simply can't get rid of the annoying advertisements.

Or I could, but that would probably require me to take a new branch of OpenProject and call it "add-free".
Work considered, I think I will stick with the adds.
