Multiple assignees?

Added by Deleted user over 4 years ago

I'd like to assign multiple assignees to a work package, is there a way to complete this in the Community Edition?

Hello Zach,

you cannot directly set multiple assignees. However, you can create a group and then assign the group to a work package. All users in the group will then be notified by email. - Indirectly, you are setting multiple assignees.

Best regards,
Robin

Hi Robin,

For my case we have many members in a project and need to assign work package to different set of people,  Designers, Structural/Electronic Enginners, Costing, Graphic, Package, Brand, PM etc. the combination by different roles and people will be huge and those sets are temp and keep change time to time. and also this needed to Admin role authority.

Is there any easy way to assign to a small set of combination by PM but not Admin?

@Robin Wagner

Hello Robin,

Would there be any chance to introduce this feature?

Honestly, it is a terrible drawback. As @Paul Wang mentioned, we are in the same situation.

A dozen of people who work on different tasks and projects in very different configurations.

To make all possible groups, we would have to create dozens of combinations.

It would be really great to have this feature.

Best regards,

Piotr

Hello Piotr,

We have a feature request for this her: #30105.

Please check to see if this matches your requirements. Feel free to add a comment if anything is missing.

Kind regards,
Robin

Hello Robin,

This would be useful to our organization as well, any chance of a status on it or of getting it bumped back into the spotlight?

Thank you;

Hello Luke,

Thank you for your message. I just upvoted the feature for you and will also raise this with our product team.

Thank you,
Robin

Has this function been ignored still...? This is a very elementary feature I require...

There's a (IMHO) relatively easy and good workaround for this: Add a custom field for this. (=>Custom field of the type list, fill it with the names of your colleagues, activate it for all projects, add it to the work package forms, use it.)

We tried the Group workaround but we feel it´s getting complex since we have to create multiple groups.

This feature will be useful for my company

We are currently evaluating enterprise cloud and being able to assign multiple users with different time allocation to a task is very important for us. So i vote from us as well.

Thank you, Jack. We recorded your vote for this feature request.

I would be highly appreciative if you do implement this.  I just installed this to use in a small not-for-profit organization (no one is paid).  The current limitation and workaround is error-prone and the training overhead of getting volunteers to understand groups and to do it properly is overwhelming.  Being able to put multiple people on a task really solves lots of problems.

Hi Ted,

Thank you very much for your feedback. I have left a vote for you in feature request #30105.
The feature is currently scheduled for version 13.2.0.

Kind regards
Samantha
