Custom fields

Hello,

I would like to ask if there is, by any chance, a way to create a custom field for specific task inside work package? Meaning, I have project with 20+ tasks and some of them need custom fields to be added, specific field for each one of.

Second question. Send test mail fails with An error occurred while sending mail (hostname "xxx.xxx.com" does not match the server certificate)

I tried to fix by all solutions I could found here on forum but none helped.

Version I am using is 11.3.2 (free)

Hello Jurica, 

It is possible to create custom fields for work packages. Once created it needs to be activated per work package type per project. So you could create a custom field and activate it for a specific work package type only. You can find the instructions for custom fields here. 

Did you check the logs regarding the error which occurred for the test email?

Hello Samantha,

I think we misunderstood each other. I know how to create and activate custom fields for work packages. But custom field is visible in all same package types and that is the thing I do not need. So look at the example:

Here is a part of work package I have created

 I have created custom bool field Test123 for type Task and it is visible in both Task's (ID 42 and 44)

So, what I do need here is that custom field is visible in Task form ID42 but not in Task form ID44. For Task form ID44 I need different custom field. Is there any way to achieve that?

I did not checked logs. Where I can find them?

Hi Jurica,

for each work package type, you can select which custom fields should be shown for that type. Additionally, you can control on which projects these custom fields should be active.

That however means that for the same work package type in the same project, always the same custom fields will be shown.

Hope that makes sense.

Administration - Create new custom field for User section

Seems that a custom field for Users sections do not care about the checkbox: Editable. Either it is checked or unchecked.

Any user can edit that field even if created by Admin and set as not editable.

Any ideas why the functionality is not there or?

Hi Oliver,

Found a solution for what I need. Quite of work but I got what was my goal. Created a bunch of task types and then enabled custom fields per work package phase step.

Email still not working. Where I can find logs?
