Milestone vs Milestone

Hi everyone,

I came across the Milestone concept in OpenProject and cannot really make any sense of it.

First to its semantics:

  • its sole purpose is for displaying a diamond symbol in Gantt, right?
  • something else?

What milestones OP knows about:

  • There is this work package type called "milestone".
  • There is the flag "IS MILESTONE" in the admin interface.

Also related to this, is this note in the docs:

Can somebody resolve the confusion?
