Connecting to SuitCRM Propject tasks, cases and personal tasks through OpenProject
Added by James van der Hoven almost 4 years ago
Hi.
We have the following Use Case requirement and upon research of many online tools, we eventually opted for our own CRM system that we can bend to our own needs.
We are a small ecommerce agency and have used Trello, Jira, Asana, vTiger and and and...none of which is doing what we would like it to do the way we need it, so we opted to move our CRM from vTiger to SuitCRM so that we can build out something of our own.
Essentially, at the end of the day, we would like one Kanban board that sucks in all the of the different Project Tasks, Personal Tasks and Cases into a single Kanban board so that we can use a Gantt charts to see where we are at with our projects and what is taking us the most time.
My first question would be...
- Can OpenProject create a single Kanban board from multiple sources into a single board so that the entire team can see all the other people's workloads?
- If so, could we then filter Cases, from Project Tasks, from person Tasks and could we further filter it by Client so that it looks manageable?
- Is it possible, via API to pull the information from SuiteCRM to OpenProject and I assume that information saved in OpenProject will then be pushed back to SuiteCRM
There are many plugins for SuiteCRM but it is incredibly clunky and the Gantt chart tools are not great at all.
Many thanks,
James

Hi James,
let me try to help you. First off, have you created a free trial, yet? You can start one at start.openproject.com for the Enterprise cloud or at https://www.openproject.org/enterprise-edition/ for the Enterprise on-premises edition.
The filter options are described here: https://docs.openproject.org/user-guide/work-packages/work-package-table-configuration/#filter-work-packages (The filter in the boards module works more or less the same way).
How to add a work package type can be found here: https://docs.openproject.org/system-admin-guide/manage-work-packages/work-package-types/
I hope that helps?
Kind regards
Matthias
