LDAP bad password count incremented by 2

Added by Max Templeton over 3 years ago

Whenever a user enters their credentials with a bad password via ldap, it increments the AD bad password count by 2.  Packet captures also show that ldap makes 2 logon attempts when a bad password is supplied.  Anyone else experience this or know how to configure it to only try logon once?  We are on version 10.4.0 (but it was also happening on 9.0.3 prior to upgrading).

Hi Max,

I looked into this and my capture only shows one user bind. We do perform a system bind to find the DN of the user and then try to bind once.

Do you have perhaps have two auth sources defined?

Best

Oliver

Thanks Oliver, yeah we only have one auth source defined.  Not sure what else could be causing it to make another bind attempt.
