Is it possible to make categories mandatory for only some projects?

Added by Severin Kempf about 5 years ago

Hello Everyone,

We're trying to get OpenProject set up within our organization and have started using the "Projects" as what are basically folders. Since several different departments use the software, we have added Projects for, for example, IT, HR, Financial, etc.

This has been working quite well, but to force users to enter an end date (because otherwise they won't), some of our admins are dead-set on making the field mandatory when creating a new project. This means that our directories have end dates, which is silly, as "IT Projects" doesn't have an end date and this creates unnecessary work. Only the work will have to be done whenever the false end date is set.

I cannot find this option, and will assume it's not possible.. would it be a possibility to implement something like this, or perhaps alternatively, proper directories?

Thanks!
