How to set a peremptory deadline

Hi, I have a peremptory deadline (milestone) and three predecessor tasks, all of them are scheduled (only basic "follows" and "precedes" relations). If I set a new end date of one of the tasks a new date for the milestone is consequently set. Is it possible to set a relation between tasks and milestones to prevent this? Or is there a different method to set a peremptory deadline?
