Templates for Tickets (Description field)
Added by Tobias Braun over 5 years ago
I miss the possibility to create some kind of templates for a ticket. Eg. I would like to have some text (eg. main chapters) in the Description of a bug ticket. I thought with Enterprise Edition this is somehow possible. Is there maybe a plugin available? A solution would be also to have some modification options to the Description filed. Eg. to define more than one Description field, disable it or to move it down. Right now the Description can not be modified at all. Other Edit fields are then too small and do not have the same size as the Description field (over the whole ticket).

Hi Tobias,
You can define a default description for each individual work package type.
To do this, go to the administration and select "Work package types" from the side menu. You can then select a type (e.g. "Bug") and enter your template text in the text box ("Default text for description").
This text is then displayed by default whenever you create a work package of that type (e.g. a bug).
Here is an example:
Thanks Robin,
I could not find this in the OP Wiki and missed this option. That is what I was searching for!
I have another question:
Is it somehow possible to define a text field to use the complete screen as the Description field? We would like to add the mail conversation with the customer to the bottom of a ticket. It should not be mixed with the comments on the right side. For good readability it would be handsome to use the complete screen. Eg. a plugin?
Thanks for the help!
Hi Tobias,
apart from the long text CF, there is no such field currently. It would make sense (to allow) to restyle those for full width however it's currently not possible.
Best,
Oliver
Hi Oliver,
we are using the long text CF. Writing a plugin is not an option? I am currentl not sure about the impact of such a plugin eg. for update to nerw releases etc. I mean the data is saved in the same way. It is just how it is displayed in the browser.

Tobias
