Migration Self-hosted Community edition to hosting edition

Added by Service SI CEDRAT TECHNOLOGIES about 6 years ago

Hello,

We would like migrate self-hosted Community Edition to Hosting Edition, mainly for :

  • Performance issues on our self-hosted OpenProject instance
  • Free from maintenance and administration labour

On our existant instance, we have several projects and many users. For the moment, we would like to migrate only one of these projects which concern only one part of our users.

Here are the questions we ask ourselves :

  • Can we export/import data from self-hosted Community Edition to Hosting Edition ?
  • Is it possible to extract only data concerning a specif project with users concerned ?
    • If so, Is there documentation for the process ?
    • If not, Can we import all data of our instance and remove non-concerned users to avoid extra fee per user ?

If my questions are already documented I apologyse but for the moment I did'nt find the answer ?

Thanks
Aymeric

Hi Aymeric,

Thanks for your note.

Yes, that is easy. We can do the migration for you. We first migrate and then you can deactivate the users you do not need anymore. So you do not have to pay for them.

Does that help?

Best

Niels

Hi Niels,

Thanks for your answer.

To be sure to well understand and not have bad surprise :

  • If first we migrate data and after we desactivate users, Is it sure that the tiny period for which many users will be active is not billed ?
  • How is migration support handled by you (OpenProject Team ?) ? There is a fee ?

Regards,
Aymeric

we are the good ones :-)

no fees for the migration - no fees for the period before you deactivate the users you dont need
