Child work package of custom work package not copying version

Added by Jason Solan about 6 years ago

We are using version 8.2 on centos.

If I create a user story and assign a version to that user story, any child that I create copies the version into it.

However, if I create a new work package type and copy the workflow from User Story, the new work package does not copy any information into the child.  To make matters worse, I cannot edit the version of a child because the system tells me that version is controlled by the parent.

Is there a way to make this work?  It would be especially helpful if openproject would copy the assignee/category/etc into the child as well, but since that is at least editable on the child, it's not a big deal.
