I am currently seeing a problem that email notifications are not sent to assignees when I create a new work package item (for example, a task). When the user is in watchers' list, he can receive emails without any problem.

I have done couple tests with different "Email Notifications" settings for user. The config I am seeing email not being sent is when I choose "Only for thing I watch or involved in". If I choose "For any event on all my projects", then email notification works fine.

I also checked with the delayed_jobs database, looks to me the entry are being cleaned up by the delayed_jobs process after a period once the entry is created.

I think my system email settings are set correctly, because when I did sending out test emails, the email was sent out to my mailbox, and I did receive the test email in my mailbox.

The only problem I am seeing now, is when I create a new work package item, the assignee will not receive notification email if his email notification setting is set to "Only for things I watch or involved in" ans is not added to the watcher list.

Anyone who knows how to solve this issue? Please let me know.

I am running 8.2.1 openproject, and I have attached a screenshot of my version info.
