How to disable 'Self-registration' and only allow registrations via OAuth?

How to disable the OpenProject self-registration feature and only allow registrations via an OpenID Connect provider?

If "Self-registration" has been set to "disabled" in /settings?tab=authentication, following the OAuth flow, OpenProject will return an "User registration is disabled on this system. Please ask an administrator to create an account for you." error.

I also need the "automatic account activation" feature, so accounts created via the OpenID Connect provider will be enabled automatically.
